YOUR EYE TEST - What Is included?

Your Eye Test will take aproximately 35 minutes:
During your examination the Optometrist will record your detailed optical history and note any special visual requirements you may have so that glasses can be made specific to your needs.
A detailed view of the external eye to check for dryness
etc.
An internal examination of your eye to reveal any general health issues including the risk of CATARACT and AMD.
The measurement of intra-ocular pressures with a Tonometer to assess for GLAUCOMA if over 35 years.
A check of your binocular status, signs of visual stress and stereo acuity.
An assessment of your Field of Vision with a computerised screener.
A Retinal Digital photograph of your retina is taken to check your eye health. (Drops may be instilled during this test to enable this procedure to be done thoroughly).
The Optometrist may recommend that a 3D OCT image be taken at the end of your eye test to assist further health care investigation.
An eye test is usually recommended every 2 years for a healthy adult and between 1 & 2 years for children.
Extra assessments may be required sooner if you are DIABETIC or have a family history of GLAUCOMA.
If you are anxious about your eye test please advise our staff and bring a friend along if required.
Please bring with you a list of your medications as they can affect the results.
If you are new to the Practice, please also bring with you
your most recent spectacle prescription
At the end of your eye test our qualified Dispensing Manager will be able to use this information to customize glasses to your individual requirements.
All our experienced Optometrists have undertaken further training for emergency eye care and foreign body removal.
All are members of the College of Optometrists, registered with the General Optical Council and attend regular continued education courses.
